Our Work
London Youth Theatre is a youth company for 14 - 22 year olds, based in the heart of the West End. Our mission is to give young people the opportunity to make high-quality theatre in a professional environment, without the financial barriers that so often get in the way.
Over 150 young people have come through LYT. Many of our ex-members have gone on to train at the UK’s top drama schools and some have gone on to perform in the West End, on UK/International Tours and on screen. Others have taken the skills they’ve gained here — confidence, collaboration, creativity — into universities and careers across a wide range of industries. THREE PRODUCTIONS A YEAR
Our annual programme features three full-scale productions in the April, August and December. We are always rehearsing towards a show and we encourage you to sign up for a full year to get the most out of the programme. Check-out this year’s programme here.
4-WEEK SUMMER INTENSIVE
Over the summer holidays participants rehearse for 3 weeks (Mon - Fri), before a final week of technical rehearsals and performances. This mirrors a professional working process, allowing you to dig deep into the material, forge strong bonds with cast mates and perform in a larger space.
WORKSHOP & MASTERCLASS SERIES
A chance to broaden your performing skills and experiment with new techniques from writing to clowning, movement to voice. For our members taking exams over the summer, this series also works easily around demanding schedules! What you learn will be put into action during the Summer Show.
