THREE PRODUCTIONS A YEAR

Our annual programme features three full-scale productions in the April, August and December. We are always rehearsing towards a show and we encourage you to sign up for a full year to get the most out of the programme. Check-out this year’s programme here.

4-WEEK SUMMER INTENSIVE

Over the summer holidays participants rehearse for 3 weeks (Mon - Fri), before a final week of technical rehearsals and performances. This mirrors a professional working process, allowing you to dig deep into the material, forge strong bonds with cast mates and perform in a larger space.

WORKSHOP & MASTERCLASS SERIES

A chance to broaden your performing skills and experiment with new techniques from writing to clowning, movement to voice. For our members taking exams over the summer, this series also works easily around demanding schedules! What you learn will be put into action during the Summer Show.

FAQs

  • LYT is based at the Seven Dials Playhouse in Covent Garden. Nearest tube stations are Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road.

    The best London bus routes to get to us are the 14, 19, 24, 38 and 176. We’re also walking distance from Charing Cross if you coming to us via train.

    The Summer Show is performed at The Cockpit, and rehearses in Zone 1-2.

  • We rehearse every Saturday from 11:30am to 3:30pm. The Summer Intensive rehearses Monday - Friday in summer holidays.

    Workshops are designed to work around the busy exam season. Annual dates for the year are supplied at the beginning of each Season. The approximate schedule is:

    Show 1: January - April

    Workshops: May - July

    Show 2: July - August (4 weeks, Monday - Friday)

    Show 3: September - December

  • 60% of our places are free of charge. The other 40% are on a tiered pricing scheme based on what’s most affordable for each member according to their circumstances. You supply this information during the application process. There’s no need for a separate bursary application.

    The low tier is £32 per month, the middle is £58 per month and the high tier is £85 per month. Payment is taken monthly by standing order only.

    There are no other hidden costs for productions or extra rehearsal time. We’re working to eventually become a 100% free service.

  • LYT works with 14 - 22 year olds. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis. If you are outside of this age range, please write to hello@londonyouththeatre.org.uk.

  • No! We encourage anyone and everyone to apply to us. No previous experience is necessary, we just ask for your commitment.
